playlist

I've had this playlist ready to go for over two weeks, but I never had time to actually put it together via Spotify, let alone post it here. I made another poster. This time, everything was done by hand and collaged digitally. It's sort of a hint at that project I am working on that I mentioned so long ago (not the playlist, but the poster).

playlist

Well, this playlist is long overdue. I have an infinite amount of work to do within a very limited amount of time, so I've been putting blogging on the backburner, as usual. Anyway, in between class, homework, work, and life, I need a break every so often. And just because my job happens to be doing what I love, a break consists of doing more of that. Which is why I made this poster. Just for fun and to do what I want to do, rather than doing something I am required to do. I might make more posters, I might not. Maybe I'll post more design work in general, but no promises. For now, I hope you enjoy this poster and my playlist. I recommend listening to it in order because the songs transition pretty well into one another. I feel like I say this every time, but I'm really excited about this one. Seventeen is just a perfect amount of songs I guess.

   september / two
Fish On The Sand | Allah-Las

Hopefully, I'll write a post catching up on the past couple of months. When that'll happen, I have no idea. My schedule is pretty crazy for the rest of the month and with the holiday rush I anticipate it will only get busier. I definitely have to post some photos too. I've been taking some during moments in between everything. Look for another playlist soon. xx

p.f. candle co / piñon

Hi there! You may or may not have noticed via Instagram that I've been doing a little collaboration with P.F. Candle Co.  I'm helping them release their newest scent, Piñon. Here's what I think of the scent:

Like all of the scents by P.F. Candle Co., Piñon is not intrusive or overwhelming in a space, but instead saturates it in rich, yet gentle wisps. Inspired by the spirit of the early days of autumn, the scent offers an undeniable and familiar warmth--the trailing warmth of the sunny days of the past season, a long sitting beside a bonfire, a lethargic sunset atop the coziness of a heavy wool blanket, a sweet memory with close friends contrasting a crisp night sprinkled with the stars of the vast sky. Besides the instant, comforting warmth Piñon occupies a room in upon lighting a candle or opening a bottle of incense, the scent also possesses strength. Notes of black pepper and the pine it gets its very name from creep out from below the sweetness of vanilla and cinnamon--like a sophisticated, freshly baked snickerdoodle with a kick--to remind us that the comfort is not only a gentle hand, but a rigid support. A velvety blend of contrasting parts effortlessly merge into one beautiful scent washing a room over in a sea of welcome nostalgia and the saccharine enchantment of a new season full of adventures and a special kind of warmth. Essentially, Piñon has the power to make me long for the young days of a season I do not usually adore. And that, I might say, is quite powerful.

You can go snag Piñon here. Enjoy! xx

stickers | stickerapp

Hi everyone! It's been a while, but I am well and full of ideas as ever, just busy, busy, busy. Anyway, I'm dropping in to talk about a little collaboration I did with my friends over at Stickerapp. Remember the phone cases I designed? Well those same lovely people make custom stickers too! As always, the quality is amazing, the process is easy, and the options are plentiful. Simply upload your file, and choose how you want your sticker cut, the size of your sticker, the sticker material, and the quantity of stickers you desire. There's no waiting for a proof back, because you'll be able to see a mockup right away. And if you see an imperfection or kink, simply leave a note and they'll have it fixed for you. (Bonus) production and shipping are also pretty speedy. And what better excuse is there to try making your own stickers than with the holidays around the corner? I know I would love to receive some stickers. xx Laura

P.S. If you're interested in my stickers, I'll be posting an update on all of the fun things going on in my shop (including stickers) very soon. Yes, you have to be patient and keep your eyes peeled. I promise this time, it won't be too long.

shop anniversary

Hi friends! I have some very exciting news to share! My little Etsy shop, flowers are rad, has now been around for an entire year. Wow. I am still in disbelief at how quickly the time flew by. It feels like just yesterday I was eagerly writing a blog post announcing its opening. That being said, I'm quite proud of how far I've come in a year and I am incredibly thankful for all of your support. It makes me so very happy to know that this many people find joy in what I do. It's the absolute best feeling to see that I'm making somewhat of an impact in a way I had always wished I would.  I'm planning lots of exciting new things for this year, so make sure you keep an eye out for news.

Because I cannot contain my excitement, I have created five new illustrations and listed them on my shop as part of an anniversary series. They can all be found in these photos. On top of that, I'm having a little giveaway via Instagram. You can find all of the details you need there, but here's a little rundown: one winner receives two illustrations from my anniversary series (one 8 x 10 in and one 4 x 6 in) of their choice and two other winners receive one illustration from my anniversary series (4 x 6 in). I hope you enter, but if you'd prefer, you can also purchase them via those links below.

+ moth on hand (4 x 6)
+ girl in a fuzzy sweater (4 x 6)
+ floral heart (4 x 6)
+ baby lettuce is better (8 x 10)
+ little things (8 x 10)

Enjoy these behind-the-scenes photos and make sure to check all that art out! xx

playlists

Hello everyone! It's been an entire month since I'd posted a playlist. They've accumulated and I'm going to share four at once. Despite my absence from my blog, I still  make a playlist each week for the most part. If you're ever craving new music and it isn't here, just check my Spotify account. I don't have time to catch up today, but enjoy the photos from a shoot I did a bit ago (along with lots of wonderful new music). These playlists are definitely some of my favorites. xx
